#Ue megaboom app how to
Since they directly updated the old Boom app to the new one, I don't know how to disable remote power mode for those. It works the same as the new app otherwise. It won't show up by search in the Google Play store, so that is the only way that I know.

I was able to reinstall the old app on android by googling Megaboom app from the homescreen and finding it under apps. For the Megaboom though, I found a way to turn off remote power mode. Now, they lose about 20% between uses and die quickly. It's especially not worth the trade-off of battery life. Not everyone needs to turn the speaker on or off from the app instead of pressing power on the speaker.

My Boom 2's normally held their charge between uses, but they took away the ability to turn off remote power mode, which makes your speaker have low energy bluetooth on 24/7. It sucks UE took away my options for products I own. I've contacted UE support about this issue, and they simply responded with "There is no longer an option to disable remote power." Anyone else in the same boat as me? I can't find anyone else complaining about this! Now, it seems I'm stuck charging my speaker every few weeks, and it's just such a hassle, especially knowing how little I had to charge it before the update. The old app used to warn that remote power could affect battery life, and while it was a cool feature, I immediately noticed the battery drain, and disabled it long ago. Instead of charging maybe once every couple of months, I now need to charge every 2 or 3 weeks! I've come to realize this is because remote power is always on and can no longer be disabled anywhere in the app. Since then, I've noticed the battery life is garbage compared to before. I updated the speaker to the newest firmware when the new unified UE app was launched (no longer the "megaboom" app). I use my speaker very sparingly, about once or twice a week for less than an hour. If you have the money for both of these speakers, then it's worth it just to pair them up together with PartyUp for a truly amazing experience.I have the UE Megaboom speaker, and I used to love this thing because it had such great battery life. It also has the 360-degree sound design with rich, deep bass, and 20-hour battery life. The MegaBoom is rated lower for waterproof capabilities (IPX7), so it's not able to be submerged as long as its cousin, but it's still a lot for most people and more than a lot of other Bluetooth speakers. If you want something a little more budget-friendly, then the MegaBoom is a great option to consider. The only negative about the MegaBoom 3 is the price point. It also lasts about 20 hours on a single charge, so it'll definitely get through your next big social gathering. The sound quality of the MegaBoom 3 is incredibly rich thanks to the immersive 360-degree design that produces big sound and thundering bass. It has military-grade durability, so the MegaBoom 3 is going to last a pretty long time, even with daily extended use. With such a high rating, you'll be able to take this speaker with you anywhere, including the pool, without breaking a sweat. The MegaBoom 3 is waterproof and even dust-proof with a rating of IP67. How much you want to spend will determine which speaker you get. Why should I get the MegaBoom 3 or MegaBoom?īoth the MegaBoom 3 and MegaBoom from Ultimate Ears are great speakers for their respective price points. That's it! When you're ready to disconnect your extra speaker, all you have to do is either turn the speaker off or drag it back to the bottom. It looks like two speakers, one slightly behind the other.Ĥ. Drag the image of the additional speaker up from the bottom of the screen, toward the image of your main speaker.
